Dock Assignment Process for Talladega Plant
1. Preliminary Checks
- Use Staging Dock First if a Staging Dock is set on the appointment.
- PSI Transport Drivers (SCAC = 'PRSP') go to Dispatch.
- Reject Loads if they contain more than 5 coils.
- Reject Loads if they are from another PSI plant.
2. Check for Part/MSA Exceptions
- If
asn.msa-no
orasn.part-no
matches one of the following, assign to Door 805:
60111-SJC-A000-MA, 60112-SJC-A000-MA, 60211-SJC-A000-MA, 60211-SZA-A000-MA, 60211-TZ5-A000-MA, 62111-SJP-A000-MA, 63501-SJC-A000-MA, 63501-SZA-A000-MA, 63501-TK8-A000-MA, 63501-TZ5-A000-MA, 66411-2P000, 66411-3X000, 66411-C1000, 66421-3Q000, 67111-TK8-A000-MA, 67111-TZ5-A000-MA, 67121-SZA-A000-MA, 67121-TK8-A000-MA, 67611-TK8-A000-MA, 68111-TZ5-A000-MA, 68112-TK8-A000-MA, 69211-3S000, 69211-3X010, 69211-C1000, 69221-3S000, 69221-C1000, 71122-2P000, 71122-2W000, 73721-2W000
3. Enable Storage & Line 805 Logic Based on Appointment Attributes
- If
AppAttr.AttrKey = "Plant8GridDefault"
is found:- Enable storage logic if
AppLog = YES
. - Enable Line 805 logic if
AppInt = 805
.
- Enable storage logic if
4. Determine Storage and Line 805 Processing Based on ASN Data
- Retrieve all ASNs associated with the Bill of Lading Number from the appointment in Talladega.
- For each ASN, determine the width tolerance from the owner's choice field 489:
- If the owner is not found, default to -0 to +1 inches.
- If the ASN has an MSA number, find all non-obsolete parts in the Talladega plant that match the MSA number within the determined width tolerance.
- Search all processed inventory in the Talladega plantfor that part:
- If the part was previously slit on 805, mark it as E-Bay.
- Check if the part was previously shipped as storage material.
- Check if the part has been processed in the past.
- If the ASN does not have an MSA number, use the part number instead and apply the same logic.
5. Assign Dock Based on Determined Category
- If the ASN is classified as storage and not slit, look for available docks in Area Bay 5.
- Currently, Talladega does not have any docks set up for this area.
- If the ASN is classified for slitting on 805, look for available docks in Area Bay 4.
- Currently, Talladega does not have any docks set up for this area.
6. Auto-Assign a Dock if One Has Not Been Found
- If a dock has not been assigned, check all docks in the Talladega plant that are set to Auto Assign and Dock Enabled.
- Currently, only Dock 805 and Dock 815 are set to be chosen.
- Evaluate the Warehouse Grid against the ASN OD (Outside Diameter) and width measurements to see if there are available openings in that bay.
- If there are multiple dock choices available, the selection is determined in this order:
- Priority Level of the dock
- Truck Count at each door
- Given the current setup, Dock 815 is almost always selected due to the way the logic is structured.

Subject: FW: Talladega Inbound Dock Rules
Based on what I found, it looks like steps 3,4, and 5 never works. It looks like everything probably falls to step 6 and based on the Docks that are enabled and Auto Assigned, only Dock 805 and 815 are probably eligible to be picked. Does that seem like how it is working today?
