Backhaul: Creating & Invoicing Combo No Charge Loads

Modified on Tue, 6 May at 12:07 PM

Combo NoCharge: Is a backhaul load built when PRSP is the scac code only and the load would charge a Precision Strip facility or department. Per Precision Strip accounting policy, Precision Strip can not invoice Precision Strip. In order to document these shipments, Combo/No Charge loads have been created to document time, labor, freight involved, etc. These loads are typically packaging supplies, cores, maintenance items or any product that Precision Strip would be responsible for the freight to pay a Precision Strip Truck to move. In order to process a Combo No Charge load correctly, follow these steps.

1. Create the Backhaul. If the Haul Index is not available to choose the correct PSI Plant to bill, please contact accounting with the correct Ship From, Ship To and Bill To customer id numbers.

2. Keep the Load in Scheduled Status.

3. On the POD, apply the PD Label.

4. Enter the POD Barcode label number starting with pd and select Save.

5. Do not POD scan yet and make sure the Load is in Scheduled Status yet.

6. Check mark the Combo/No Charge. You will receive a Warning message advising: No Accessorial Pay or Fuel Surcharge will be applied. Are you sure you want to set Combo/No Charge on this Load? Select the Yes button to proceed.

7. Select the Broker-OwnerOps tab. You will enter the Freight Charges that we will charge back to that PSI Plant being billed. Typically, you will enter 100% as we do not charge to make profitability for Transport HQ Drivers (Owner Ops). Save your changes. Make sure you are still in Scheduled Status.

8. Scan the POD through the POD Scan button on the Scanner.

9. Wait for the scan to append to the Image Docs and is present on the Backhaul Image Docs button. "Outlined in yellow."

10. Once the POD is present, double check the pricing again and make sure the backhaul index is correct.

11. Change the Status from Scheduled to Delivered. Select Save.

12. The load will automatically invoice and go to Invoiced Status then.
