Subject: Outlook Security Update: Report Phishing Improvements

All,

We’re updating the Report Phishing button in Outlook to provide better feedback when you report suspicious emails.

What’s Changing?

In the past, you only received a response after using the Report Phishing button if the email was confirmed as malicious. With the new phishing response platform, you’ll receive feedback for every email you report.

When you report an email, you will now receive one of the following classifications:

  • Safe – The email was reviewed and determined to be legitimate and safe.
  • Spam – The email was identified as unsolicited or unwanted but not malicious.
  • Malicious – The email contained phishing, malware, or other security threats.

Emails classified as Spam or Malicious will be removed from your mailbox and from other mailboxes across the organization.

What do I need to do?

No action is required. These changes are effective immediately, and will run in the background to avoid interrupting your work. Please continue using the Report Phishing button whenever you receive a suspicious email. Your reports play an important role in helping protect our organization from security threats.

Please contact us with any questions.

Thank you!
